Moon bathing
Rewilding and appreciating the little things
Howdy friends,
I’m procrastinating hardcore on packing for my trip to Egypt. I leave tomorrow afternoon, but would rather be here with you sharing about my recent discoveries while moon bathing.
Let’s dive in.
Hey, this is Kelsey, and you’re reading the SiteSee newsletter. Expect an email from me every Friday filled with personal travel stories, cutting-edge research from our team of globetrotting writers, and insights on embracing a location-independent lifestyle and the gear to get you there.
During my final weekend in Cape Town, my friends and I opted for a cozy mountain hut an hour outside of the city.
Saturday brought rain, so we huddled indoors, kindling a warm fire and indulging in games (Unstable Unicorns, anyone? I'm completely hooked).
Once the evening skies cleared, we ventured outside, searching for the perfect spot to admire the full moon.
As we hiked up a hill and found our viewing spot on a large rock, it resembled a New Year's Eve countdown. We could see the moon glowing from behind a mountain, and as it fully revealed itself, we cheered and laughed hysterically. Eventually, we sat back and basked in the brilliance of the full moon.
Throughout this year, I've dedicated myself to embracing the outdoors and leveraging nature as a means to rediscover my inner self.
I had the privilege of working with an amazing somatic coach who guided me through the transformative practices of breathwork, challenging my limiting beliefs, and embracing the concept of rewilding.
Rewilding, in essence, involves shedding the misconception that we are disconnected from nature. This allows us to tap into our primal and powerful energies. (In fact, we compiled a list of top rewilding retreats here).
Rewilding has changed my relationship with myself for the better. Now when I feel stressed or scattered, I practice rewilding by going for a walk on the beach or on a nearby trail.
And I’ve come to learn that being in nature is inherently spiritual. It connects you to the nowness. It brings you back to the moment.
The best part? It's freely available, right in your own backyard.
5-minute coffee break sitting under a tree? Do it.
That 20-minute nature walk? So worth it.
Pausing to look at the full moon? You’ll feel like a million bucks.
Don’t underestimate the small things. They’re often more powerful than you think.
Just a heads up that there will be no email next Friday as I’m taking time off to explore Egypt. Thanks so much for reading, I so appreciate you being here!
Have a wonderful weekend, all.
Onwards,
Kelsey
